Jesús Sancho holds a Master Degree of Aeronautical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (Spain) and an Executive MBA Diploma from IESE Business School (Madrid).
Based in Dubai (UAE) since 2008, he presently holds the position of Middle East CEO of Spain´s ACCIONA (www.acciona-me.com). ACCIONA is one of the foremost Spanish business corporations, leader in the delivery of sustainable solutions. It specializes in the development and management of Utilities, Transportation and Social infrastructure as well as Renewable Energy, the Water Cycle and several types of Services. Listed on the selective Ibex-35 index at the Spain´s Stock Exchange, ACCIONA has presence in more than 40 countries and has 40,000 employees. The Group develops its business activities based on the desire to contribute to the economic and social development in the communities in which it operates.
Mr. Sancho started his career in the Aeronautical sector working at Gestair Executive Jet (Madrid), The Boeing Co. (Seattle), Daimler-Benz Aerospace (Germany) and Airport Infrastructure at Ferrovial (Madrid).
Then, he shifted to the Water infrastructure sector thirteen years ago. Based in the UAE, he developed large scale seawater desalination and wastewater treatment projects in the Middle East, Africa and Australia under PPP or EPC/O&M schemes. In 2014, ACCIONA appointed him to take over its global business in the Middle East including: Civil Works, Water/Wastewater lifecycle, Waste-to-Energy, Pumped Storage Power, GreenH2, Renewable Energy plants, Facility Management and Aircraft Ground Handling among other businesses.
Over the past years, he has been involved in the tendering, execution and management of several infrastructure businesses within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Some of the most complex projects that Mr. Sancho has worked on, and succeeded, include IWPPs, IWPs, EPC+Fs, O&Ms and DBOMs for Public and Private Clients including Alliances in Australia.
Mr. Sancho has recently been included in the Forbes List ‘’Global Meets Local: Top 50 executives in the Middle East 2020’’ following his first inclusion back in 2018. He is also part of the 2020 Middle East Construction Week “ME Power 100 List”
