Asad Khan leads the remote sensing department at Blue Forest, Dubai. He has an MSc in Wildlife Conservation and Drone Applications as well as a BSc in Ecotourism and Wildlife Management.
He has extensive experience in using drones and remote sensing data to devise creative and effective solutions to tackle issues such as deforestation, forest monitoring , poaching and wildlife trafficking.
He has worked as an antipoaching special forces ranger in different parts of Africa where he developed drones with thermal sensors and artificial intelligence to detect poachers, in addition to that he has worked with a number of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers in South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
These experiences have helped him develop a deep understanding of wildlife and habitat conservation challenges and the skillset to ensure lasting change in these areas.
At his current role at Blue Forest, he is working on developing more efficient techniques to monitor and predict deforestation in mangroves by leveraging drones, remote sensing data and artificial intelligence.
